General Motors and activist investor Greenlight Capital Inc. squared off in one of the biggest proxy fights in years. On the table was a shareholder vote between choosing GM’s position and existing board of directors or choosing Greenlight’s proposal and slate of new board candidates. FGI was engaged by the GM project team to create and implement an aggressive media campaign consisting of compelling print and online communications, direct mailings and other supportive literature, aimed at persuading GM’s institutional and retail shareholders to support the company.
